ABOUT

Hi, my name is Beth Re (pronounced "ray") and I paint things. I used to get in trouble a lot in elementary school for spacing out and drawing pictures in my workbooks.

I studied studio art in college, but made my dad happy and got a different degree, two actually. Despite spending most of my professional life writing and teaching writing, I've never stopped drawing and painting. I have lots of pictures of my kids and my dogs.

I think everyone should get to enjoy art, whether it's traditional portraits, landscapes, or abstract images hung on walls or on things you can carry or give as gifts. There's nothing quite as unique and special as custom art work.

I live and work in Austin, Texas, where you'll find me most days sitting in my kitchen, listening to 70s music, letting my dogs in and out, and spacing out--which we now call "being in the zone"--working on my latest project.
